The mission of the Food Bank of El Dorado County is to provide comprehensive services in collaboration with other hunger-response agencies that will help transform the lives of people in need by: providing nutritious foods, advocating for and participating in various programs, including nutrition education. Emergency Food Assistance Network

Our Food Assistance Network is a collaborative partnership made up of multiple charities throughout El Dorado County. This local food assistance network consists of emergency food closets, soup kitchens, maternity homes, abused women & children’s shelters, drug & alcohol transitional houses, homeless shelters, children’s programs, service clubs, school programs, emergency lodging programs, and more.

Homebound Delivery

In addition to the Food Bank’s Emergency Food Assistance Network and its Mobile Pantry, we distribute emergency food on a regular basis to low income El Dorado County residences that are medically homebound. For more information, contact the Food Bank directly.

As a result of a partnership with the El Dorado County Veteran’s Commission, the Food Bank of El Dorado County is proud to act as the emergency food assistance safety net for local veterans and their families. If you are a veteran, or a family member of a veteran, and you find yourself in need, we encourage you to contact the Food Bank today.

Free Farmer's Market

For many years your local food bank has collaborated with California Emergency Foodlink to provide a Free Farmer’s Market to low income residents of El Dorado County. Every year during the spring, summer, and fall seasons, the Food Bank invites Foodlink to Mobile Pantry distributions in Placerville and South Lake Tahoe. Mobile Pantry

The Food Bank’s rural outreach is currently visiting rural sites in communities throughout El Dorado County from: Placerville, Pollock Pines, Somerset, Georgetown, Grizzly Flats, and even all the way to South Lake Tahoe. Holiday Outreach

During December of each year the Food Bank enlists the aid of an army of volunteers to assist in a special mission to feed our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet. Over a two day period, over one thousand families are provided with a shopping cart full of nutritious food - everything needed for a great holiday meal.
