Want to get involved with the day to day operations of the Food Bank? Now’s your chance! We are in need of some truly committed community orientated people. Our current volunteer needs include (but are never limited to):
*”One-timers”, those who would like to get involved with special events. Volunteer time can be anywhere from one day to one hour. We have a few special events taking place throughout the summer.
*Volunteers who are available to commit to a weekly or biweekly “schedule” to assist in office.
*Volunteers interested in assisting in our monthly scheduled home-bound deliveries. This position includes deliveries to our home-bound clients who are unable to attend a normal distribution site, this is also a wonderful opportunity to involve younger children and a way for them to tangibly see the difference they are making in the life’s of others. You are always welcome to try this a few times before you commit to a permanent schedule or do it on a temporary basis.
*Those interested in helping at a off site distribution. We will be holding two each month throughout the summer, one in Tahoe and one in the Placerville and surrounding areas. Carpooling to Tahoe is available.
If you are interested and have some free time you can commit to us, we would greatly appreciate it! Whatever you can give, we will take! A hour or two, once a month, weekly or once a year, it doesn’t matter what you can give, just that you can give! Please contact us for further information: rebeccaf@foodbankedc.org
