Our Food Assistance Network is a collaborative partnership made up of multiple charities throughout El Dorado County. This local food assistance network consists of emergency food closets, soup kitchens, maternity homes, abused women & children’s shelters, drug & alcohol transitional houses, homeless shelters, children’s programs, service clubs, school programs, emergency lodging programs, and more.
As a result of a partnership with the El Dorado County Veteran’s Commission, the Food Bank of El Dorado County is proud to act as the emergency food assistance safety net for local veterans and their families. If you are a veteran, or a family member of a veteran, and you find yourself in need, we encourage you to contact the Food Bank today.
The Food Bank of El Dorado County teamed up with the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians to help seniors 60 years and older with our Commodity Supplemental Food Program. Currently serving seniors in Sacramento County, Yolo County, Placer County, El Dorado County and Amador County.
During December of each year the Food Bank enlists the aid of an army of volunteers to assist in a special mission to feed our neighbors who struggle to make ends meet. Over a two day period, over one thousand families are provided with a shopping cart full of nutritious food - everything needed for a great holiday meal.
